How to Register for the Psychometric Entrance Test: Step-by-Step Guide with Screenshots

Before you start

• – Your Israeli ID (teudat zehut) or Israeli passport. If you have none of these, you can register with a foreign passport (see Step 3).
• – An email address you check regularly. Your registration confirmation, and later your scores, will be sent there.
• – A credit card for payment.

If you plan to pay with your discharged soldier’s deposit (pikadon), NITE states that the online form cannot be used: you register with a paper form and pay at the Postal Bank. Since the procedure may change, confirm it with the NITE Registration Center first: 02-6759538 (extension 1) or zimunim@nite.org.il.

Step 1. Open the registration form

Go to the Psychometric Entrance Test page on the NITE website and click “here” in the grey box.

The form “הרשמה להבחינה הפסיכומטרית הדו-תחומית” opens. It has six sections, listed in the menu on the right, and you can fill them in any order.

Step 2. Registration rules (נוהלי הרשמה)

Read the rules and tick the circle below them. This confirms that you have read the registration rules and the NITE privacy policy. You can’t pay without it.

Step 3. Personal details (פרטים אישיים)

Fields marked with an asterisk are required. Gender, street, ZIP code and the landline number are optional.

• – Document type: “תעודת זהות” (Israeli ID, 9 digits) or “דרכון זר” (foreign passport).
• – Enter your email twice and double-check it.

If you don’t have a teudat zehut

• – If you have an Israeli passport, select “תעודת זהות” and enter the ID number shown in that document, not the passport number.
• – If you have no Israeli document at all, select “דרכון זר” and enter the last eight digits of your foreign passport number. If it has fewer than eight digits, add zeros on the left.
• – When you apply to a university or college, use the same number you registered for the test with.
• – Bring the original of the document you registered with to the test.

Step 4. Language, date and region (העדפות שיבוץ)

• – “השפה המבוקשת” is the test language. The test is offered in Hebrew, Arabic, Russian, French and a Combined/English version. The Combined version, listed as “משולב Combined”, is meant for native English speakers and for anyone whose Hebrew or English is stronger than the other test languages.
• – “שפת מטלת הכתיבה” is the language of the writing task. In the Combined version it is set to English by default, and you can switch it to Hebrew, Italian, Portuguese or Spanish. In all other versions, the writing task is written in the test language.
• – “מועד הבחינה” is the test date. Only dates on which the test is given in your chosen language appear in the list.
• – “אזור הבחינה המועדף” is your preferred region. You can choose or change it until registration closes.

Once you have made your choices, the fee appears, along with a blue box showing the registration deadline for that date. In our example, the Combined version is selected.

When two days are listed, as with April 18-19, you cannot choose the day. NITE assigns your exact test date and campus after registration closes.

Step 5. Score reporting (דיווח ציונים)

You don’t have to change anything here. Your scores are sent automatically to eight universities: Ben-Gurion, Bar-Ilan, Haifa, the Technion, the Hebrew University, Tel Aviv, Ariel and the Open University.

• – To add an institution, for example Reichman University or a college, click its name in the list below. The search box works in Hebrew only.
• – To remove one, click the × next to its name.

We recommend adding every college you plan to apply to right away. You can also do this later in your personal area on the NITE website.

Step 6. Other details (פרטים אחרים)

This section is optional and can be skipped. It asks about how long you have lived in Israel, your education, your parents and your study plans. NITE collects this information for research and statistics, and it stays confidential.

Step 7. Confirmation and payment (לאישור ותשלום)

Click “לאישור ותשלום” at the bottom of the menu on the right. If a required section is incomplete, a red “!” appears next to it. Go back and fill in what is missing.

Once all required sections are complete, a summary opens with your personal details, test language, date, region and the amount due. Check them and click “המשך”.

Payment is made on the secure page of the payment provider: card number, expiry date, CVV and the ID number of the cardholder. Confirmation of payment can take up to 30 minutes, after which you will receive an email.

Your registration is valid only once the system records it and shows a confirmation. A registration that has not gone through by the closing date will not be accepted, whatever the reason, so don’t leave it to the last minute.

After you register

• – You will receive a registration confirmation by email. Check your name, document number, test date and test language right away. If anything is wrong, correct it in your personal area.
• – After registration closes, you will receive your test date and campus by email, and they will also appear in your personal area. In the week after that email, you can try to move to another campus if seats are available. You cannot choose a specific classroom.
• – You can change your test date free of charge until the registration deadline. After that, a date change is only possible starting a week after the test, and it costs 18% of the test fee.
• – If you cancel within 48 hours of registering, you get a full refund. After that, a handling fee of 5% to 30% of the test fee applies, depending on when you cancel.
• – Scores are sent to institutions within 45 days of the test and appear in your personal area and in your inbox around the same time. They remain valid for admission for at least seven years.

If you take the test in a language other than Hebrew, you can also take a Hebrew proficiency test right after it, following a short break. Its score is reported separately, and whether you need it depends on the institutions you are applying to.
