What is the minimum level of Hebrew for someone who enrolls in the Yael Exam Preparation Course at the OK Training Center?

Your success in the exam that determines the level of your academic Hebrew depends not only on how rich your vocabulary is but also on how quickly you can solve tasks and how developed your logical thinking is.

The simplest indication of your readiness to do the course is a diploma of a completed “gimel” ulpan. According to our experts, a graduate of a “gimel” ulpan has an active vocabulary of 3,500 – 4,000 words in Hebrew (for comparison, an “alef” ulpan guarantees 1,500 – 2,000 beginner everyday words).

To be enrolled in the Yael Exam Preparation Course in OK, you need to be able to:

  • Conduct a lively conversation in Hebrew on everyday topics, using the past, present, and future tenses;
  • Read and analyze a short academic text in Hebrew (15 – 25 lines);
  • Read and understand articles in Hebrew on regular (not adapted for Olim) news sites;
  • Listen and understand Hebrew news broadcasts on radio and TV.
  • In the Yael Exam Preparation Course, we focus on the learning skills that will allow Olim (new immigrants) to not only
  • maximize their potential in the exam itself but also successfully integrate into Israeli universities down the road.
